Note. If you are moving your data to new databases, CRM, mail order or ERP systems, we can work with you to correctly enhance, transform, standardise and migrate your address information (and other data) - whether UK, European, USA or worldwide - both business to business and business to consumer. We have skills in migrating to SAP, Seibel and many other systems.

Warning. The address improvement process - especially where non-English addresses are involved - is far more complex than a single pass through batch address enhancement software.

If you need quality output - especially for data migration work - then this will involve additional (and often time-consuming) preparation and formatting stages. In addition, it is often necessary to re-run the address validation process on subsets of the data using different parameters to gradually improve results. Other considerations include:

• How to handle output format where some records get improved to a different level from others

• Whether the 'local' naming should be kept - Praha vs Prague. Also if marketing want a fixed field structure that works for the UK, how do you then correctly print 'local' addresses where format varies by country

• If your system can print accented characters and if not, how should these be replaced

• The database field layout and maximum address field lengths your system can handle - i.e. if your system can only accept: two address lines plus city, county and Postcode, then how should output that only fits into five address lines plus city etc. be restructured

• How fields should be 'cased', records source coded and the treatment needed to remove repeated address components (from non improved records), etc.

• The QC process needed to ensure no crucial delivery instructions are removed

This level of work is NOT undertaken as part of on-line address enhancement. Be warned.
