KbaseT Profiling and Predictive Modelling

Profiling investigates the distribution of a customer segment relative to the customer base illustrating the results with graphics and relevant statistics.

Until now profile reports have typically required expensive consultancy projects; with KbaseT profiles are generated in seconds with just a few mouse clicks.

This data mining procedure enables a marketer to build predictive response models from the results of a profile. The models are used to score and segment the marketing database to, for example, find prospects that ‘look like’ your existing high value customers.

Model reporting illustrates potential gains, revenues and profits and you can select the best prospects by simply clicking on a response chart. With profiling and modelling, sophisticated analysis techniques are made available to non-technical marketers putting the analysis power in the hands of those who understand customers and use the marketing database.

Typical applications for Predictive Modelling include:

  • Selection of look-alike prospects (i.e. prospects who match the profile of selected customers).  This is the most common approach and is a natural progression from profiling

  • Using scoring to grade prospects to prioritise marketing and telemarketing

Geographic Mapping

KbaseT includes a fully integrated geo-mapping option to allow marketing analysts to more easily make selections based on geographic location and to present data geographically. Selections can be displayed as points on detailed maps and you can zoom in to pinpoint individual customers at street level detail.  Thematic maps show the distribution of a customer segment or profile across the country. Maps can be saved as web pages or copied into other applications.

Pie-chart mapping can be used, for example, to see the breakdown of household income across the geographical territory. Zooming in on a map reveals street level data across the whole of Europe or USA.

Reporting and Exporting

KbaseT includes hot links to Microsoft Excel for reporting. Results of selection counts, cross tabulations, Venn diagrams, profile reports etc. can be captured with a single click into an Excel worksheet. During your analysis session you build up a workbook of results that can be directly used in documents and presentations.

There are many export options available including: CSV, Fixed Format, dBASE, unique reference numbers (URNs), SPSS, etc. With SPSS statistical analysis files, all of the descriptive labels held against both the fields and selection categories in KbaseT are exported with the file enabling subsequent analyses to be undertaken without further data preparation – a massive time saver. The files can also be easily converted through our DBMS/Copy software into SAS or 80 other package formats and in addition, files can be read directly into Cognos PowerPlay and ORA for slice and dice reporting.
