DoubleTake Overview
Double Take combines many powerful and convenient features like letting you process files in different formats and different field structures directly, saving you the time by not having to import them into a specific file structure or needing to make them uniform.
De-duplication matchcodes can use any parts of any fields, and you can process multiple matchcodes simultaneously. Double Take undertakes suppression and intersection runs, parses street addresses, and offers complete, editable reports - all in a single pass!
And we have proven that this software produces more accurate results at between 20 to 100 times faster than other de-duplication and merge/purge software!
What one of our customers, CGNU, has to say about Double Take...
"We have now been using Double Take within our marketing database for nine months. We use the product for three purposes:
1. Identifying duplicates within the database that our standard batch merge process misses. Double Take creates an extract file of the duplicates which is fed into a program written by Norwich Union that chooses which of the duplicates is correct and updates the database accordingly.
2. Fine tuning of the merge rules. We can amend the match rules in Double Take to see what effect it will have, which in turn leaded to finding and correcting more duplicates.
3. Measuring the level of duplication. We feed a sample of data into Double Take and measure the current level of duplication on a quarterly basis.
Before Double Take, the level of duplication was around 8%. The current level of duplication is 2.2%. Most of this decrease can be put down to the Double Take process. We find that the software is very efficient (we can process up to 4 million records in around 90 minutes)."

Of course! But most merge/purge software will fail.
Why?
Because nicknames (like Beth above) and alternate spellings (like Liz and Beth) confuse first name matches. Because it's really tricky to handle names when some of the first names are just initials. Because varying company entries confuse other software. And because mixed address formats (PO Boxes and/or Street addresses) will fool most de-duplication software.
This is not a problem with Double Take!
