  • Data transfer across operating platforms using magnetic tape – NovaXchange
    (Win 95/98/NT/2000/XP) Supports multiple SCSI as well as RAID controllers and handles labelled or unlabelled tapes. A TAR/CPIO Plug-in gives the ability to read and write Unix TAR and CPIO tape formats, converts UNIX name spaces and Read/Write multiple volumes on a single tape, etc.
    Optional first step if transferring data across varying hardware and operating platforms using magnetic tape. The software has the ability to transfer and manage most types of data and supports most kinds of SCSI tape drive.

  • Data character cleansing - Dirty Harry's Character Assassin
    (Dos/Win 95/98/NT/Win2000/XP) - eradicates unwanted characters in your data. This utility uses customisable code page tables to strip/replace any ASCII or EBCDIC character - UK, European, or other, CR/LF... - with any other.

     Where your data is full of unwanted characters or symbols, then Dirty Harry eradicates manual intervention in their removal. You can create multiple template tables to substitute varying multi-national character sets and these tables can also be used to suppress characters (rather than remove them) when undertaking de-duplication with DoubleTake software.

  • Mixed field identification and splitting - Right Fielder for Windows  
     (Win 95/98/NT/2000/XP).  "Re-fields" badly fielded lists: distinguishes names from companies, primary from secondary address, domestic from foreign, etc. Imports "print image" and "label format" files into true databases. NB. UK City/County split not available as the software is based around USA and Canadian address formats.

    Use Right Fielder where your data can contain a mixture of company and person names in the same field. The software helps identify and split to separate fields using a set of customisable look-up tables.

  • Address quality improvement – Matchcode Batch & Interactive  
    (available for most operating platforms) - Cleans Consumer and Business addresses, adds Postcodes and creates formatted output in a high-speed batch process, validating against PAF and optionally Business/ Electoral Roll databases.

    Add-on datasets include TV regions, SIC, Map grid references, demographic codes, Delivery Point Suffix (a unique identifier for every address point in the UK), etc.  The interactive component provided with the batch programme allows on-line look-up of an address from a Postcode or a combination of name and address elements and is useful for manual data clean up after the batch process has been run.

    Matchcode interactive is used to speed up data entry whilst at the same time improving accuracy. For example, enter the Postcode and the street number and the full address details are pasted directly into your database.

    The optional Matchcode Commercial database consists of approximately 1.55 million + organisations, ranging from small businesses and shops through to blue chip corporations and local government agencies. It is designed to work alongside standard PAF data or to be used independently as a stand-alone database.
