Franchise territory
(or franchise area) boundary assessment and re-alignment
As franchise regions are sold,
there is often a requirement to refine the boundaries to
suit the needs of the new franchisee. Provided adjacent
territories are still available, we are able to manually
adjust boundaries whilst usually keeping a balanced opportunity
potential.
Additionally, we work with
both the franchisee and franchiser to further split out
territories for the franchisee's own sales team.
Our franchise territory planning
process
First we need to understand
your business, customer profile/s, how many opportunities
a franchisee can handle, and how many franchise regions
you desire.
Next we
take account of any existing territories and how they were
created.
For example, if Postcode Area, District (or outer Zip code
etc.) were used, should this approach be retained. Or should
we use Postcode Sector (or 5 digit Zip codes, etc.) for
more accurate balancing, or political, council, or county
boundaries, or an alternate design?

Once
goals are agreed, data is acquired as needed and territory
design begins.
Any separate
data sources such as spreadsheets, lists and databases are
merged, data refined, postal addresses improved and duplicated
records removed.
Segmentation and profiling
is a crucial part of our territory balancing process and
you can obtain more information here -
profiling and segmentation
We next create
a PDF that shows all balanced territories, and forward this
to you for review. Once approved, after option refinement,
the production process is commences and the required solution
delivered.
Territories can be shaded
or labeled to suit your needs, and can optionally be designed
to tie in with any country or county boundaries, and political
or organisational structures.
Territory Output
- including
maps, reports and web-based options
For
franchise legal documentation, we produce
individual franchise territory maps together with
territory-to-Postcode/Zip code allocation sheets.
These
include a breakdown of which Postcodes or Zip codes
belong to each territory together with counts of the
geo-demographic profiles of your target audience.
We can provide the
master territory design and individual territory maps in a PDF or wall map format, or in custom-built
web-based information system, with
zoom maps and drill-downs to underlying data.
Locations can also be plotted with drill-downs to underlying
data and URL links.
A search engine to look up territories
can also be included.
Reports can also be created
as separate web pages - accessed through drill-down links
on a web page map.

Other output
options include MS PowerPoint (for presentations), MS Word,
MS Excel, MS Access and also jpg and gif image formats.
Our wall maps can be produced in all popular sizes
and are protected by an anti-scuff laminate for maximum
durability.
What's more, we can create them for any
international location.
And where we
need to use your data for territory design or to build into
information systems,
we protect data security
by working on 'a copy' or non-sensitive data.
