A Grant Thornton survey stated that only 14% of buyers said their deals exceed initial expectations for income or rate of return.
They go into some detail:
- Only 35.5% of respondents stated they were ‘very clear’ on the synergies
- Only 30.9% felt their Operations teams were involved early enough
- Only 32.0% felt ‘strongly’ that they leveraged outside expertise appropriately
